No. Just no.Number 3 in the Strange Man series. I really enjoyed the other two very much, but this one is with voice actors and that ruins it for me. I had to turn off the sound and you lose so much of the game with it being muted. I haven't played it through yet, but it's already a hassle and I can't enjoy the game at all. Very disappointed.EDIT: I played it through and I unlocked all the endings. The game would've been AMAZING! The story was twisted, the puzzles challenging, all the different characters in the game made it wonderfully nuanced. It gave hints to the other two games and I suppose to understand the happy end thoroughly you have to play the last game, which I am looking forward to do!The endings were the best so far, I loved all of them and the way to get the happy end was nicely thought through. It wasn't as linear as the other two before and you really had to do lots of thinking to get all the scenes. It really got me all emotional and I am not ashamed to tell that it even made me cry.What I disliked though, besides the voice acting, is that you sometimes click on things and you don't get a reaction whatsoever. This was not the case in the previous games, they would always tell you something (e.g. It's a decorative plant) or such. That annoyed me.But still, I tried turning the sound on -from time to time- but I just couldn't deal with the voice actors. I understand what they tried to do, after the playthrough I read the notes from Uri, and it was an experiment, but for me personally it just ruined the whole experience. In the end I played it through with the game being muted, which robbed me of certain noises as hints and as part of the story.Wonderful game, but I personally just can't recommend it bc of the voices.. Without Voice Acting: 9/10, would recommend.With Voice Acting: 3/10, skip.This is a confusing game to recommend.It's quite possibly the best game so far, with better writing, graphics, plot, and setting (though the puzzles are a bit lacking compared to Crooked and Sand Man).But the voice acting is HORRENDOUS. So bad, in fact, that I uninstalled the game and downloaded a freeware version of it without VA and played THAT instead. If a patch were to be released which allows the player to disable the voice acting, then I would recommend it whole-heartedly. Unfortunately, until such a day, I honestly think you're better off looking up a freeware version of this game, even if it's a bit less polished.That said, if you ARE interested in playing, I think you should still buy the game, because it's only a few dollars and Uri (the writer) honestly deserves it. I suggest doing what I did and buying the game to have in your library, then playing a freeware version.. The voice acting was a turn off, and the game felt like a scooby doo episode. Love some of the other games tho :). I just love it. Its super cool. I remember when I played the free version and it was just amazing! Now I bought this Game and I love it more then before!. After The Sand Man I was not sure what to expect about this game. The shift in mood and atmosphere from The Crooked Man to The Sand Man caught me off guard, and even though I am more of a fan of the horror genre, The Sand Man was a very pleasant and surreal surprise, so I was ready for anything The Boogie Man would throw at me.And we went back to Horror! First impression was, honestly, not amazing. The voice acting isn't absolutely terrible per se (but honestly would not call most of it good), what was most annoying about it was the recording quality. It gave the game a cheap feel to be honest, as if I was hearing the characters speak to me through Skype.Voice acting aside, this game has the strongest characters of the three (well, and also the most characters), including characters from the past two games. The way this game connects to the previous two games really caught me by surprise, I was very happy about how that was handled, definitely my favorite thing about this entry. The story was also very well realized, as it's been the usual in this series, but I felt like the puzzles this time around were a bit too obscure / random. I found myself having to check vgpersons' walkthrough once or twice, and the way forward was always something that honestly would not have occurred to me. Maybe if I went around hitting X (used a PS4 controller before anyone asks) on everything. Either way, that bit was a little annoying since this did not happen at all during the previous games.Overall, this is a really good entry. In terms of its placement in the series, I still hold The Crooked Man as my favorite, maybe because it was the first one, and The Sand Man has a special place in my heart because of a sudden change and great mind**** it caused me for not knowing what to expect but another horror entry. I would say this is tied with The Sand Man in my book.Check it out if it sounds good to you! Don't let the voice acting fool you in the beginning, just push through it and enjoy the game! Now onto the 4th entry.... pretty jarring hearing voice acting after playing Crooked and Sand man. The voice actors barely skirt on being uncomfortably bad, but once the voice actor for the boogie man comes in you tolerate it since he adds the cheese. All the puzzels (EXCEPT ONE, AND I'M PRETTY SURE ANYONE WHO PLAYED THE GAME KNOWS WHICH ONE I'M TALKING ABOUT) are okay, a lot of red herrings but it makes sense for the context of the story.
